[Feature Request]Move Objects With Band Divider

Posted by Mike Kerner on July 17, 2008 at 7:32pm

If I want to expand a band, I have to manually move the objects within it afterwards. Similarly, when I shrink a band, I can't make it go any further up than the bottom element of the band, even if there is whitespace at the top of the band. A certain other report writing tool I use has an added feature that would be nice to have in this instance - if I have objects selected and I resize the band, the objects move with the band, so if I expand a band, the objects all move down, and if I shrink a band, the objects all move up (until they hit into the top of the band).

Interesting idea - another one that crossed my mind the other day, was "hover-expand" where the band would expand to fit the item when you hover for 2 seconds over a band that is too small. Such user interactions can be difficult to implement, though...
